Jean Kara's Explanation of Pets (I took screenshots )
"The attributes of the pet in battle will be translated to the players attributes accordingly. The transfer ratio is determined by a pets quality.
Each time a pet levels up, it has a chance to upgrade its attributes. You have three chances a day to reset the growth attributes for free.
When a pet reaches a certain level, it requires a certain number of pet eggs of the same kind and quality as the pet. When that happens, manual leveling must be performed. A pets level shouldn't exceed half of the players level.
Pets of green quality will get one skill slot at level 1. Pets of blue quality will get a skill slot at level 1 and 30. Pets of orange quality will get a skill slot at level 1, 15 and 30.
Installing or removing pet skills require magic powder and hammers obtained through forging.
Only the amulet skill of the pet in battle will be effective. Pets moods will decrease slowly in battles, and the effects granted by the pet will disappear when its mood reaches 0. Mood restoration items or pet toys can be obtained through cooking. Using pet food obtained through cooking to feed the pet or to amalgamate it can increase a pets experience. The number of feedings and amalgamations are limited each day.
If players excel during events, he/she can get pet eggs, pet skills, and other pet-related items.
A pets appearance will change with its level."

Re: Pets
The transfer rates of pets is 50%. Green pets CAN be converted into Blue, but I've heard that Blue cannot be converted to Orange.
Amulets:
Green Pet gets 1 slot at level 1.
Blue Pets get 1 slot at level 1 and 30.
Orange Pets get 1 slot at level 1, 15 and 30.

Re: Pets
Leveling your Pet.
Can be done by feeding it Average Pet Food (30 points) or Advanced Pet Food (80 points) DO NOT buy Advanced Pet Food in the Auction House. Total rip off! Break down the cost of Diamonds per skill point and you'll see what I mean. Man, people are stupid.
Getting to level 5, you need 5 Eggs of the same TYPE of pet. NOT chests and NOT the actual animal, the EGGS. I made the mistake of "using" my eggs and had to get more to upgrade. Same applies for every 5th level. Level 10 requires 10 eggs, level 15 requires 15 eggs, etc...
For example: Upgrading Orange Quality Raccoon to level 5 required x5 Orange Raccoon Eggs.
You can also level your pet by combining other pets to it. Color doesn't matter. HALF of the pets skill points will be transferred into your main pet. Also, your pet will slightly grow a little as you level, slightly. Not very noticeable.
Getting to level 5: First you need to feed it to the xp goal then you need x5 of same quality (color) pet to level it to 5.
Getting to 10: First you need to feed it to the xp goal then you need x10 of same quality (color) pet to level it to 10.
Again, repeat every 5 levels.
At level 10, your pet will start to display GREEN GLOWING properties!
At level 20, your pet will start to display GOLD GLOWING properties!
I'll update more as we find out more. I'm sure it will be another color at level 30 but nobody on the server (as of this post) has reached their pet to that level 30 yet so we'll see.
