To be a mentor u must be lv 40 n up if u want an apprentice u must go to schoolar magus in lower king ciry u can select one n add him or pm him every 10lv's u gain bonuses (i got a potion xp card n i forgpt orher thing when my apprentice lv up ro lv 10)

Do you do missions with them and stuff? If so, how does that work?

Yup you can to help them level up and they level quicker when you do help them. Also you get inspiration(?) points when you do dailies together.

Also, every tenth level they reach, 10,20,30 40, you get rewarded with items. Revival coins, mars cards, etc. The system says that you can't change apprentices if you are the mentor, but I found that if you delete your apprentice from your friends list (they are marked with a gold disk) you can get rid of them, if they are no good. That's what I ended up doing with one because he was just a scab, not active at all.

i love my apprentice n if they have ____'s apprentice they get 100 xp base when there close to u imagine tat plus guilds xp bonus plus xp card they lv up in like 5 inf missions!!
lv 10 i got pet amulet 3 xp cards n a poton lv 20 i got orange pet chest (bound) xp chest n potion i belive... 

Ya my new apprentice is much much better!!! Active and very willing to learn!!!! And ya, can't beat the rewards!!!!
